The Steigenberger Hotel in Dubai’s Business Bay is ahead on this trend, with plans to launch a digital detox day for guests. But you don’t need to pay for this, and you can do it whether you are at home or on holiday. Just put your phones away and do anything else: read, play a game, cook an elaborate meal, put together a jigsaw puzzle, swim in the ocean or go for a walk at night when it’s cooler.
