Absolute Sanctuary hires full time fitness trainers and instructors and, in a rare move for a wellness resort, offers several reformer Pilates classes a day for people of all levels. If massages and treatments are more your style, they have several masseuses on site at your disposal. Part of our detox program involved a consultation with a wellness coordinator about dietary intake, emotional well-being and how to handle stress and life situations.
Absolute Sanctuary food
The Love Kitchen is responsible for all the cuisine on the property. Eating healthily is a big part of the detox and wellness process so a stay involves a fairly strict diet full of natural, unprocessed and raw superfoods. Depending on which program you choose, you will have an ample choice of delicious Thai and international style meals, which are high in nutrients and flavor but low in calories.

Absolute is not the type of place to bring your family, as there are no kid-friendly food or play options, although for some people this could be a plus. Most of the people here are serious about self-improvement and wellness, and that may not be for everyone, either. The resort is tucked away in the hills, so it’s a retreat rather than an excursion-filled destination.

Rooms start from Dh529 per night, depending on the season. There are a range of health and wellness packages, too. From Dubai, the remote Thai island of Koh Samui is a six-hour flight into Bangkok, followed by a one-hour flight. From the airport, the team can pick you up and have you in your room in 15 minutes.
